Jamie Horton is an award-winning photographer based in Annapolis, Maryland who specializes in newborn, maternity, child and family photography. Jamie began her career as a photojournalist throughout New England.

Her pictures have appeared in Fortune Magazine, Der Speigel, The Washington Post, and newspapers throughout the country via the Associated Press. She is currently an on location photographer for Fox Television shows “So You Think You Can Dance,” “America’s Most Wanted,” and “Master Chef.”

Her work has earned multiple awards including prizes in the creative and illustrative
categories from The New England Press Association; the Catalysis Prize for Creative Photography; and a grant from The Alexia Foundation, She also won a feature spread in the National Press Photographers Association Magazine for her first place honor for sports photography.

After moving to the Annapolis, Baltimore, DC area, and having her first child, Jamie turned her camera from sports and politicians to her newborn. With an eye trained to capture the “decisive moment” she began to document the vanishing stages of childhood that she was witness to every day.

It is this approach that sets Jamie apart from other baby, child and family photographers. Jamie does not simply take a portrait. She uses her background as a professional photojournalist and her artistic eye to capture fleeting moments of beauty in childhood and the essence of family life and love.
